The Jesus Trail™ follows the life of Jesus by taking you on a journey to visit some of the important sites from his life. Galilee is a treasure trove of rugged beauty, and the 65-kilometer Jesus Trail™offers an authentic experience, full of adventure and genuine people-to-people contact throughout the trip.

The Jesus Trail Vision is to develop cross-cultural understanding between the diverse cultural and religious communities of the Galilee and beyond. Supporting the livelihoods of the local communities, and developing responsible tourism practices that help protect the beauty and unique ecology of the region.

    Beginning in Nazareth at the Fauzi Azar Inn, the hiking trail passes through Zippori National Park, Cana, Ilaniya, Kibbutz Lavi, the Horns of Hattin, Nebi Shu’eib, Arbel National Park, Migdal, the Jesus Boat at Kibbutz Ginosar, Tabgha, the Mount of Beatitudes, and Capernaum.     For those with more time, there are optional extensions to allow you to explore trails in many parts of the Galilee

    The Jesus Trail™ team includes permanent staff and international volunteers. the project is a great example of an entrepreneurial enterprise that has been built with passion and expertise by a dedicated group of people.

    Day 1: Nazareth to Cana – 13.5 km
        Highlights: Nazareth, Zippori National Park, forest scenery, village life, churches of Cana

    Day 2: Cana to Ilaniya (or Lavi) – 11.4 km (15.4 km)

        Highlights: Forest scenery, Yarok Az goat farm, diverse trees and flowers, (Roman road)

    Day 3: Ilaniya (or Lavi) to Moshav Arbel – 19.0 km (15 km)

        Highlights: Roman road, views from Horns of Hattin, Nebi Shu’eib, ancient olive trees, Jesus scenery in Arbel valley, ancient Arbel synagogue

    Day 4: Moshav Arbel to Capernaum – 16.8 km

        Highlights: Views from Arbel cliffs, exploring cliff caves, Sea of Galilee, Migdal, Tabgha, Mount of Beatitudes, St. Peter’s Church, Capernaum

    Total Distance - 61 kilometers (38 miles)
