Resources

This list of websites, books, articles and scholarly papers has been compiled from recommendations of the staff of Green Olive Tours, and from a wide spectrum of colleagues who mostly live in Israel and Palestine.

This literature represents a wide variety of perspectives. Some may even be distasteful to you. However it is important to read wide range of opinion in order to understand the complexities of the Holy Land today.  These publications range from relatively objective writing, to unashamed promotion of extreme ideologies.

Many of the non-fiction publications offer reasoned advocacy and critical analysis of Zionism and Palestinian National aspirations. The fiction represents a spectrum from nostalgic and romantic views of Zionist pioneering, to tragic and human stories of Palestinian displacement. The religious texts will broaden your horizons by learning about the history and practice of the three great religions of the Middle East.

This list of books is not exhaustive and we continue to add to it. Your recommendations are welcome.
